The tin layer on tinned wire protects keeps the copper core from oxidizing and accepts solder with minimal cleaning. The wire is silver colored and will accept patina. Can be used as reinforcement in suncatchers, to make jump rings for glass jewelry, and for applying quick and easy decoration to your soldering.

4 ounce spool

  • 14 gauge: good for small to medium sized suncatchers & small panels (4 oz = approx. 20 feet per roll)
  • 16 gauge: good for small sized suncatchers (approx. 4 oz =32 feet per roll)
  • 18 gauge: good for decorative wire work (approx. 4 oz =50 feet per roll)
  • 20 gauge: good for decorative wire work (approx. 4 oz =79 feet per roll)

Quick Tips:

To make Jump Rings:

  • Always place the open end of jump rings in your solder. If ya don’t, they can pull apart & boom crash goes your art.
  • With the exception of verrrrry small suncatchers & jewelry, always solder your jump rings in a solder line (not just on an edge bead) or your foil will start to pull away from your piece.
  • For larger stained suncatchers & small panels, always make a hanger with a tail!
